President Pranab Mukherjee will attend the valedictory ceremony of the Indian Revenue Services officers at the National Academy of Direct Taxes here on April 29, an official release said today.
The 65th Batch of the IRS induction programme consists of 112 officer trainees from different parts of India and three officers from Royal Government of Bhutan.
The IRS trainees hail from 21 different states.
Maharashtra tops the list of states with 18 trainees, followed by Uttar Pradesh (15) and Andhra Pradesh (14).
Around 76 per cent of the trainees are men, while 24 per cent are women. While 64 per cent of the trainees have urban backgrounds and 36 per cent are from rural areas.
Around 34 per cent of trainees have postgraduate degrees and two hold PhDs. Many of the trainees have past job experience in central government, state government and other sectors.
The 16-month induction course, which is one of NADT's flagship courses began on December 19, 2011.
