Pro Kabaddi records rise viewership for 4th straight season

Star Sports said the Pro Kabaddi League has for the fourth consecutive season recorded growth in its viewership.

On a cumulative basis, the league has shown growth of 51% over the last four seasons, Star Sports said in a statement.

The excitement around Kabaddi in India would be taken to the next level with the 2016 Kabaddi World Cup set to kick off in October this year.

Scheduled to take place in India, the flagship event would witness 12 teams from around the world including US, Canada, UK, Australia, Iran, Poland, Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Korea, Japan and Kenya in action.
 
The growing preference for Kabaddi has resulted in an encouraging response from sponsors over the last 26 months, the statement said.

Season 4 saw a total of 12 sponsors as compared to nine in the previous edition, it added.
