Property dispute kills community head in Jaipur

The head of a community organisation was shot dead allegedly by two men over some property dispute in Rajatalab area of Banswara, sparking protest by a mob outside a hospital.

45-year-old Abulala, chairman of Anjuman Islamia committee, was sitting in his nephew's shop last night when two attackers came on a bike and fired at him, injuring him critically, Banswara SP Anik Kumar Tanki said.

Abulala, who received bullet injuries in his abdomen, was first rushed to Banswara District Hospital from where he was referred to Udaipur, but he died on way, the SP said.

His brother lodged and FIR, accusing two history-sheeters Sirazuddin and Khan Bahadur for the murder.
 
Police have arrested a man in this regard, and further investigation is on to solve the case, the SP said.

"Preliminary report revealed that Abulala was having some crime record in the city police area over some property dispute," he said.

After the incident, a group of people, demanding arrest of the accused, held a protest outside the hospital in Banswara and pelted stones on an ambulance.

Additional police force has been deployed in the area to maintain law and order, the SP said.
