In an effort to contain the spread of dengue, which has already affected 758 persons in the state, the Punjab government has constituted rapid response teams in each district and set up dedicated wards for the patients.
"Dedicated dengue wards have been set up in each district and sub-divisional hospitals for the treatment of patients," said Punjab Health & Family Welfare Minister Surjit Kumar Jayani today.
"Each bed in these wards is provided with mosquito net for the prevention of spread of the disease. Supportive treatment is being given to patients in the government hospitals free of cost," he said.
The minister said blood component separators have been installed at all 20 district-level hospitals.
