Rajasthan boy Chitraang Murdia has topped the Indian Institutes of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination, or IIT-JEE, advanced, 2014. Murdia, from the Delhi zone, scored 334 of 360 marks.
Among women candidates, Aditi from the IIT-Roorkee zone topped the exam securing seventh rank. There are five women among the top 100. The total number of women qualifying the exam form 11 per cent of all those qualifying.
In all, 27,151 of 126,997 registered qualified the examination, with 19,416 on the common merit list, 6,000 in Other Backward Class (non-creamy layer), 4,400 on Scheduled Caste and 1,250 on Scheduled Tribe merit lists.
