Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir as the unrest in Kashmir Valley continues unabated for more than one month.
During the hour-long meeting, the Home Minister took stock of the situation in the state along with Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Senior security officials briefed the top Ministers the prevailing situation in the Kashmir Valley and steps taken to restore peace, sources said.
The Ministers also reviewed various aspects in the implementation of Rs 80,000 crore package announced by the Central government for Jammu and Kashmir in November last year.
Kashmir Valley has been witnessing unrest after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani more than a month ago.
As many as 64 people including two police personnel have been killed and several thousand injured in the clashes that began on July 9.
