A revenue inspector in Ganjam district has been suspended for alleged irregularities in the enumeration of houses damaged in cyclone Phailin in his area.
Maharsha Nayak, the revenue inspector of Mantridi area in Rangeilunda tehsil, was placed under suspension for including names of those people in the list who had no house at Surala village.
District collector Krishan Kumar had directed the tehsildar to inquire into the matter after receiving complaints against the inspector.

S Damburu Reddy, local BJP leader and a member of Zilla Parishad, had alleged several irregularities in the enumeration.
He had provided several names of persons of Surala village, who were not house owners but found a place in the list.
The RI had also not taken the photographs of the damaged houses as directed by the district administration, the sources said.
Meanwhile, several sarapanchs in Aska block also alleged irregularities during house damage enumeration in their block.
As many as 27 sarapanchs in the block met the Aska tehsildar and demanded for inquiry into the matter.
"While the actual victims are deprived of house damage benefits, some others have figured in the list of beneficiaries," Bijaya Nayak, the secretary of the Sarapanch association in Aska block said.
