Lawyers from Rourkela and Bolangir today met chief minister Naveen Patnaik separately at the state secretariat to convey their demand about the establishment of a permanent High Court bench at their respective places.

An 11-member team from Rourkela Bar Association along with president Ramesh Bala demanded that the High Court bench must be set up at Rourkela due to its distance from Cuttack.

A team of 18 members from Bolangir Bar Association under the leadership of president Binayak Mishra requested that the High Court bench must be set up in Bolangir as it was there six decades back.

During the discussion, the state law minister Maheswar Mohanty was present.
