US President Joe Biden had a constructive conversation with Quad leaders amid the rapidly evolving situation in Ukraine, the White House said on Thursday.
The Quad leaders -- US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi --- convened a virtual meeting on Wednesday where they prominently discussed Russia's military operation in Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the eastern European nation.

Russia-Ukraine war LIVE: Europe’s largest nuclear plant on fire as Russia attacks
Europe’s largest nuclear power plant suffered a fire as Russian troops began shelling early Friday, raising concerns over the safety of the facility.
Ukraine’s foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba called on Russia’s military to immediately halt firing on the plant and to allow a security zone to be established in a message posted to Twitter.

One million people flee Ukraine
One million people have fled Ukraine so far, and a million more have abandoned their homes for Ukrainian cities farther from the fighting. The United Nations predicted that 10 million Ukrainians — roughly a quarter of the population — could be displaced, including about four million who are likely to become refugees in other countries, NYT reported.
