Salman verdict stirs Twitterati

Twitter had some interesting, funny and some rather insensitive comments on the case verdict

A Mumbai sessions court on Wednesday sentenced Bollywood actor Salman Khan to five years in jail. This was the much awaited verdict in the 2002 hit-and-run case involving the actor. Following the verdict, microblogging site Twitter was abuzz with activity, with views flowing both in favour of and against the actor. While people from the film industry came out in support of Khan, many thought the decision was a good way to set an example for the country. 

Some people, especially those from Bollywood, seemed to have gone overboard in supporting the popular man from their fraternity. In doing so, they did not care to be sensitive to the victim in this case and his family. While some of their tweets looked plain ridiculour, they seemed oblivious to the importance of the law of the land. Sample these:
