Sarabjit's condition worsens

Allama Iqbal Medical College Principal Mahmood Shaukat supervising Sarabjit's treatment, confirmed his condition had deteriorated

Press Trust of India Lahore
Doctors treating Indian death row convict Sarabjit Singh, comatose in a hospital in Lahore in Pakistan after a brutal assault, on Tuesday said his condition had deteriorated, though he had not been declared brain dead.

Allama Iqbal Medical College Principal Mahmood Shaukat, the head of a four-member medical board supervising Sarabjit’s treatment, confirmed his condition had deteriorated.

Family to return
Sarabjit’s family members will return to India on Wednesday to seek advice on his treatment, Sarabjit’s lawyer Awais Sheikh said.

Sheikh said Sarabjit’s sister Dalbir Kaur, wife Sukhpreet Kaur and two daughters would go back to India through the Wagah land border crossing.

"The doctors changed his medication but this had no effect," Sheikh said.
