Satyamev Jayate reaches out to 210 mn Indians in first two weeks

This season Star India tried to make the show interactive through mechanisms like asking viewers to give a missed call, sign online petitions or SMS responses

At the end of the two episodes ('Fighting Rape' & 'Police'), Star India's talk show on socially relevant issues, Satyamev Jayate has reached out to 21 crore Indians in its second season. As per TAM data for week 11 (9 March to15 March), Satyamev Jayate's cumulative reach for the first two weeks now stands at 70 million viewers. This when extrapolated to All India Universe, as per standard industry conversions, means that over 210 million Indians have watched the show.

The second episode of the season recorded television viewership in million (TVM) 6.71 in All India (CS4+, All India) and a TVM of 5.9 in the CS4+, Hindi speaking markets (which includes Delhi, UP, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, MP, Maharashtra and Gujarat). The show was aired on Sunday morning at 11 am across 7 channels (Star Plus, Star Pravah, Star World, Star Utsav, Star Vijay, Asianet and Doordarshan) and at 1pm on ETV Telugu.

 

This season Star India tried to make the show interactive through mechanisms like asking viewers to give a missed call, sign online petitions or SMS responses as part of the Vote for Change initiative. According to the network, Satyamev Jayate has successfully garnered around 12.7 million votes for change from across the country.

The show's popularity on the digitalmedium is also encouraging with more than 280 million impressions thus far and it has almost doubled its online fan community from 1.6 million to 3.6 million. In addition, the show has witnessed more than 12.8 million views with over 650,000 hours of content consumption online, said a statement from Star India.
