Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain today paid surprise visits to seven government hospitals to check arrangements to fight dengue.

The early morning visit of Jain drew praise from Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who said he is "proud" of the health minister.

The health minister visited Acharya Bhikshu Hospital, Sardar Patel Hospital, Ambedkar Hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital, Deepchand Bandhu Hospital and Babu Jagjeevn Ram Hospital and took stock of arrangements made for dengue cases.

"Satisfied with the arrangements to fight dengue after visiting 7 Delhi Government hospitals," Jain said on Twitter.

Lauding the health minister, the Chief Minister tweeted, "I am proud of Satyendar Jain as health minister. How many ministers in the country work with such dedication?"
 
Yesterday, Lt Governor Najeeb Jung had also visited four Delhi Metro construction sites across the national capital.

During his visit, Jung instructed DMRC officials to coordinate with MCD medical officers in taking steps to check spread of dengue.

Dengue till now has affected close to 4,000 people and claimed 28 lives in the national capital even though the official figure stood at 17.
