The Supreme Court on Friday directed that Sahara chief Subrata Roy be taken into custody and refused to extend his parole, reported news agency ANI.
Under the apex court's direction, Roy will be going back to Tihar.
Last week, the apex court had extended his parole, granted to him in May on humanitarian grounds after his mother passed away, till September 23.
The parole continued later to enable Roy to arrange money to refund his investors.
Prior to his parole, Roy had been lodged in Tihar jail since March 4, 2014, on the orders of the apex court in relation with a long running dispute with market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India.
