The Supreme Court has asked CBI to bring the probe in the Aircel-Maxis deal in a 2G related case to a 'logical conclusion', noting that more than a year has passed after registration of the case.
A bench of justices G S Singhvi and K S Radhakrishnan yesterday said that the matter must be brought to a 'logical conclusion' in the case in which former Telecom Minister Dayanidhi Maran and some others are accused.
The CBI told the court that it will be approaching the government seeking sanction for expenses likely to be incurred in connection with investigation relating to some portions of the case.
It was erroneously reported that the agency had told the court that it was approaching the government to seek sanction for prosecution in the case. The CBI did not ask for sanction to prosecute officials or Maran in connection with the case.
