Small outfits that manufacture scientific instruments in Ambala are all set to host an international exhibition on lab, analytical and biotechnology instruments from December 6 to December 8. The event is being organised by ASIMA (Ambala Scientific Instruments Manufacturers' Association) to enable the small firms located in Ambala cluster get a glimpse of the latest instruments and technologies.
Ambala Cantt in Haryana has the oldest cluster of scientific instruments which now encompasses more than 1500 tiny, small- and medium-scale units which generate employment and self-employment to approximately 2,00,000 lives. The cluster had lost its sheen in the past few years due to the lack of technological upgradation, both in domestic and Indian market.
This event is fifth in the row and has helped the industry. Over 88 players across India and world are scheduled to participate for showcasing their technologies to small manufacturers.

Ashwani Goel, general secretary, ASIMA, said small companies do not have deep pockets to spend on research and development (R&D).
Products like microscope, lab glassware, analytical instruments, optical instruments, heating, cooling and shaking instruments, clean air equipment and woodenware, mechanical and civil engineering products, instruments for opthomology, pharmacy and psychology lab and general scientific instruments will be showcased during the three-day event.
