Siddaramaiah was sworn in as Karnataka Chief Minister today, bringing in a Congress government in the state after seven years.
Siddaramaiah, who was elected as leader of Congress Legislature Party on Friday with the full backing of the 120 (apart from him) newly elected MLAs behind him, is the first “outsider” to hold such a crucial position.
Siddaramaiah joined the Congress only in 2006, after he stepped away from the JD(S) where he had even been the deputy chief minister.
Siddaramaiah, as the Congress leader of the Opposition in the last Assembly, played a vital role during the polls where he worked alongside state incharge Madhusudan Mistry in ensuring a Congress victory.
Siddaramaiah has already declared that he will be working towards improving the administration in the state, which is on the verge of collapse after the “BJP misrule.”
