Tamil Nadu Police today found a body of a young girl, who was working with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), on the suburbs of Chennai. According to Police sources, the girl went missing on February 14th and she was found dead today close to TCS campus at Siruseri, on the outskirts of Chennai.
Police sources the girl was identified as Uma Maheshwari and she hails from Salem and was employed in the accounts department of TCS in Siruseri. Uma Maheshwari, who was staying with friends near the office.
TCS also confirmed and in a statement the company said Uma Maheshwari was with TCS since February 2013. "She was well liked by her colleagues and was someone her team leader could depend on. This shocking incident is a sad reminder of the safety and security risks women face today and as an organisation we are working with our employees to continuously strengthen our security measures.”
It was reported that a passerby who experienced foul smell from a bush alerted local police.
The report quoted Police stated that there were no signs of a struggle and added that that they were looking into all possibilities.
