Decades ago, technological innovations began to gain some recognition within dental circles.  As always, the starting point was with the curious early adopters that pictured the application of each new technological breakthrough into their particular practices while the majority of dentists in India hung back. We learned we had to keep up with progress if we wanted to grow.

Today, however, patients are acutely aware of and demanding of the latest and greatest technological breakthroughs modern dentistry has to offer. They often mistakenly group the latest technology with excellent treatment outcomes even though we know that one is certainly no guarantee of the other. The developments range from improved airotor hand pieces to use of CBCT in everyday practice. The use of CAD – CAM technology in dental laboratory has greatly contributed to better fitting prosthesis and increased patient satisfaction. Furthermore, at Dentzz Dental Care has acquired the latest single sitting crown fabrication technology called “CEREC”, which has taken modern dentistry to a new level. Technology has improved the dental industry and the dentists have made timely improvements in accordance with it.

Current technological trend:

Among the many recent technological innovations in the field of dental medicine are computer-assisted design/computer-assisted manufacturing (CAD/CAM)-fabricated indirect restorations, digital impressions, and cone beam imaging. Dental product manufacturers are now marketing directly to the public, and today’s patients have information about dental technologies readily available via the Internet; as a result, they demand state-of-the-art dental care. New practitioners must be prepared to respond to that demand, so exposing dental students to emerging patient care technologies may contribute to their future success. Dental Informatics has become possible due to amalgamation of technology with education and research.
