To ban tobacco sales, Delhi govt seeks police help

To ban sale of chewed tobacco, Delhi government has sought help from police.
 
In a letter dated January 10, deputy commissioner of food safety department Jai Parkash asked police to implement the ban on such items in the region.
 
In a notification issued in April last year, Delhi government had banned manufacturing, storage, distribution, and sale of chewable tobacco products. However, the order could not implemented properly due to lack of personnel in the food safety department.
