VHP International Working President Pravin Togadia on Sunday hailed political parties for "unanimity of views" on restoring peace in Jammu and Kashmir and suggested that the visiting all-party delegation should work out a comprehensive solution.
The saffron leader said the solution should also include rehabilitation of lakhs of Kashmiri Pandits and the difficult conditions under which the security forces were working to maintain law and order in the strife-torn state.
"It is a matter of pleasure that all political parties comprising the BJP, Congress, JD(U) and the Communists among others are on the same page in their bid to find out lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir," he told PTI.
The collective endeavour by all mainstream political parties will definitely ensure a peaceful law and order situation in the border states, Togadia said.
He said the visiting all-party delegation should come up with action plan for better working condition for the security forces, including the Army, as 3,200 of them have been injured after attacks by protesters over past several months.
"It is imperative that the lasting solution to the problems in Jammu and Kashmir must include rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandits and safety of the security forces deployed there," the VHP leader added.
A 30-member all-party delegation from 20 political parties reached Srinagar on a two-day visit on Sunday. The delegation is expected to interact with a cross-section of people for restoration of peace in the border state which has been mired in strife over the past several months.
