The Supreme Court on Wednesday cracked down on pollutiing vehicles in  New Delhi, outlining a series of drastic measures to control alarming levels of air pollution in the nation's capital. 

Here are the key recommendations of the Supreme Court that include a complete ban on registration of new luxury diesel vehicles in Delhi until March 31, 2016. 

1. Supreme Court bans registration of new luxury diesel vehicles in Delhi through March 31, 2016

2. Trucks not headed for Delhi to be prevented from entering city, diverted along NH8

3. Ban on burning of garbage within city

4. Environment cess on trucks entering Delhi doubled
 
5. All taxis, including app-based taxi-hailing services, to switch to CNG by March 31, 2016
