Total number coronavirus cases of India rises to 979, death toll at 25

The health ministry reported one death each from Delhi, Gurjarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra and Telengana

With fresh deaths in six states, the death toll from Covid-19 climbed to 25 and the total number of cases to 979 by 10 am on Sunday, according to the Union Health Ministry.

The ministry reported one death each from Delhi, Gurjarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra and Telengana.

In its updated data, the ministry said the number of active Covid-19 cases in the country is 867, while 86 people were either cured or discharged and one had migrated. The overall 979 cases in the country included 48 foreigners, it said.
