The United Kingdom has sounded an alert to all its citizens presently in India and also those planning to visit the country against the threat from terrorism
A travel advice issued today stated, "There is a high threat from terrorism throughout India. Recent attacks have targeted public places including those visited by foreigners".
The alert comes at a time when India's internal intelligence providing agency, the Intelligence Bureau, issued an alert that 13 terrorists have possibly sneaked into the country taking the sea route.

"Security has been increased at all cities and at airports in the lead up to India's independence day on 15 August. Road closures are in place and there are increased security checks at metro stations", further stated the release.
