Uri attack: Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi to visit Kashmir on Monday

Mehrishi is also expected to meet Governor N N Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti

Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi will visit Srinagar on Monday to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of the terror attack in Uri.

Following a directive of Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Mehrishi will visit Srinagar and attend a series of meetings with officials of the state government, army, police and paramilitary force and take stock of the situation in the state, official sources said.

The Union home secretary is also expected to meet Governor N N Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and discuss with them the law and order situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
 
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and Army Chief Dalbir Singh Suhag reached the state early on Sunday after the killing of 17 soldiers in Uri.
