With more bodies being recovered from the Ganges, the government on Friday raised the toll to 550. Hundreds flew to the Jollygrant airport in Dehradun to inquire about the well being of their near ones.

Air India offers 50% discount in fares
Air India is offering a 50 per cent discount on the basic fare from Dehradun for those affected by the recent calamity. It is offering discount on all flights from Dehradun to Delhi and onward stations. Air India will also continue to monitor the situation and will be on standby to operate special flights, the airline announced.

Fare-free trains
  Special trains have been started by the ministry of railways in Uttarakhand. The trains will be run from Haridwar to Delhi, Lucknow and Mumbai. With the help of Uttarakhand, Indian Railways will help stranded passengers reach destinations free of cost.

Special trains have also been started for evacuation and special officers are deployed at Dehradun, Rishikesh, Haridwar and New Delhi. Special railway helpline numbers along with paramedical and railway police personnel have been deputed at these locations.
