Venu Srinivasan appointed Goodwill Envoy for Public Diplomacy of Korea

The total Korean residents in Chennai has grown to 4,000 now, as against 3,000 in 2006

Venu Srinivasan, chairman of TVS Motor Company, has been appointed as the 'Goodwill Envoy for Public Diplomacy' of the Republic of Korea on Monday.

The letter of appointment from Yun Byung-se, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, was handed over by Kyungsoo Kim, Consul General of the Republic of Korea to Srinivasan at a function here on Monday evening.

Srinivasan said the total Korean residents in Chennai has grown to 4,000 now, as against 3,000 in 2006.

The total South Korea-based SMEs operating in the city also shot up from around 70 in 2006 to 200 now.
