Ports in the Visakhapatnam region are taking all safety and security measures to face cyclone Lehar.
At Vizag port, the management is not allowing new ships in outer harbour from Wednesday evening due to cyclone warnings. However,it is continuing its cargo handling operation in inner harbour. "We we will decide late in the night whether to continue handling," port sources said.
The Kakinada port management has stopped allowing ships for berthing from afternoon. It is regulating rail racks movement into the port since Tuesday. Gangavaram port too has slowed down the rail rack movements into the port.
