A common compound wall shared by two buildings collapsed due to heavy rains this morning, crushing at least nine cars parked inside a housing complex here but no one was hurt in the incident, officials said.

According to Santosh Kadam, chief of Thane Regional Disaster Management Cell, due to heavy rains the compound wall between R-Mall and Runwal Estate came down, with the debris burying nine cars parked inside the housing complex.

Soon after the incident, men from Thane Fire Brigade and RDMC rushed to the scene and the debris was cleared.
