The West Bengal government has formed a 12-member education commission for a vision document 2020 to improve the standard of education in the state.
The panel would review courses, programmes and syllabus to suggest changes in keeping with the latest trends, nationally and internationally, and changes in the learning appraisal methodologies, a state government notification said here today.
The vision document would cover elementary, secondary, higher secondary, higher education, mass education, technical and vocational education, non-formal education and madrasah education. The terms of reference of the commission headed by Director General, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research Samir K Bhramachari include suggesting innovations in the existing education systems to improve the overall standard of education.
