As the deadlock with West Bengal government heads for a point of no return, the State Election Commission today held meeting with its officials to discuss the next course of action regarding panchayat polls.
State Election Commissioner Mira Pandey along with other senior officials of the commission today held parleys to discuss future course of action. However, the officials remained tight lipped about the deliberations. The Trinamool-led government and the state election commission (SEC) had been at loggerheads over the schedule of the upcoming Panchayat polls, with the Bengal government announcing that the elections will be held in two phases and that too under the supervision of state police.
