Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that wheat at Re 1 per kg will be provided for eight months to farmers who have suffered over 50 per cent crop-loss due to rain, hailstorm in the state.
The Chief Minister who visited hailstorm-affected Rehti, Nasrullahganj and Ashta including Chakaldi, Kothar Pipaliya, Kankariya, Harmau, Suned, Ladkui, Bhadakui, Gularpura and Kanyakhedi yesterday in Sehore district also took stock of the damaged crops and held discussions with hailstorm-hit farmers. Consoling farmers, Chouhan said that the state government will provide them all possible help.
Hundreds of villages in 40 districts of the state have been affected by this natural calamity and for this necessary instructions have been given to field staff. The field staff will survey every single field and ensure payment of proper relief, Chouhan said.
