A white tiger today killed a Class XII student in the Delhi zoo.
The boy, whose identity has not been established yet, tripped over a barricade and fell into the enclosure housing the tiger. According to eyewitnesses, the barricade was low, which led to the accident.
The eyewitnesses said that intially, the tiger did not touch the youth. But then someone threw a stone at the tiger, after which the animal grabbed the victim and ran around inside the enclosure and mauled him.
"The youth himself jumped into the tiger's cage. We are trying to ascertain his identity," R.A. Khan, curator, National Zoological Park, Delhi, told IANS.
