Rahul Gandhi on Thursday slammed the government for sending soldiers "unarmed to martyrdom", referring to the deaths of 20 armymen in a clash with Chinese troops in eastern Ladakh.

His comments comes a day after criticising defence minister Rajnath Singh for delaying in condoling the death of the soldiers. Gandhi shared on Twitter an interview of a retired Army officer who has worked in the area where the India-China violent stand-off took place on Monday night.
