The US is working to make its ties with India stronger, a senior Obama administration official has said ahead of the next week's maiden India-US strategic and commercial dialogue.
"We're very much looking forward to the discussions," State Department Spokesman John Kirby told reporters yesterday at his daily news conference when asked about the India-US strategic and commercial dialogue to be held at the Foggy Bottom headquarters of the State Department on September 22.
"There are a spade of issues that we want to continue to work on with India. It's a strong relationship; we want to find ways to make it stronger, whether that's the economic through development programs, and just increase cooperation on the security front," Kirby said.
"So there's lots to talk about. We're very much looking forward to it," he said.
