$10bn for airports upgradation: Patel

Civil aviation minister Praful Patel said $10billion would be invested to build new airports and upgrade existing airports.

"The projects would involve both upgrading and building airports in 41 cities including six key cities," he said while speaking at the Dubai Air Show yesterday.

While airports in the metro cities would be upgraded to receive the largest and latest aircraft, two new airports would be built at Bangalore and Hyderabad. "The projects would be completed in five years," Patel said.
