There is a need to build technology base for India to achieve an 8 to 10 per cent growth, according to R Chidambaram, principal scientific advisor to the Union government. He was delivering the key note address at a CII seminar.
Chidambaram was of the view that achieving the targetted growth rate was possible and technology would play a big role to attain this objective in a sustained manner.
He emphasised that the purpose of technology was to create wealth, improve quality of life of citizens, and enhance national security.
