''There is a need for industrialisation but it was felt at the Left Front meeting that the government should be cautious in taking decisions henceforth on industrial projects and take people into confidence," Left Front chairman Biman Bose told reporters.
Referring to some of the projects where the transfer of land has been more or less completed like JSW Bengal Steel at Salboni in West Midnapore, Jai Balaji steel plant at Raghunathpur in Purulia and some other projects in the Burdwan-Durgapur Asansol belt, Bose said their experience in setting up industry there would help.
''We have our own experience in setting up industrial projects in these areas and we will hav to take our decision slowly and cautiously", he said.
There was virtually no resistance to the industrial projects in these areas like for instance Salboni where Sajjan Jindal's project is coming up at a barren land, Bose pointed out.
