"We are in touch with all the Congress MPs of the region. UPA will survive the floor test ... We will ensure that the Nuke deal is a success," he told reporters here.

Lapang, who is also the leader of the opposition in Meghalaya, termed the ruling Meghalaya Progressive Alliance (MPA) government as a bundle of contradictions and "directionless".

Lapang, who was speaking a day after MPA constituents sought scrapping of the controversial power deals between the state and private companies to develop power projects, said the government should make public the report of the high-powered committee on them and point out the loop-holes.

"Donkupar Roy was the deputy chief minister when the previous Congress government inked the deals but did not say anything then. Now he is against the deals," he said.

Lapang also questioned how Roy now as chief minister could say there was 99.99 per cent chances of the deals being scrapped without consulting the cabinet.
