The CPI(M) was working towards formation of a third alternative political party in the country and not a third front as claimed by some people, party Politburo member Sitaram Yechury said today. |
"We welcome like-minded people to join, who will support our issue-based policies in a democratic set-up," Yechury said at a meet-the-press programme organised at the press club here. |
He said his party believed in secularism, people friendly economic policies and in allowing employment-oriented investments in India by outsiders. |
"We welcome people who supported these three principles for the formation of a third alternative political party," he said. |
Yechury said the Left parties had prepared an exhaustive note on the two-year performance of the United Progress Alliance (UPA) at the Centre. |
The note centres on the areas of differences the Left parties have with the government. |
