'E-revolution' to focus on Chandigarh's IT potential

E-Revolution 2006 opens tomorrow with a special Nasscom initiative to focus on the IT potential of the Chandigarh capital region.
 
Addressing the first e-revolution last year, Nasscom chief Kiran Karnik had emphatically remarked that "we have identified Chandigarh as a high-potential IT destination," and tomorrow's session shall further prepare the roadmap on creating value in the business ecosystem that could give a boost to the IT sector.
 
S.F. Rodrigues, governor of Punjab and administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, shall formally inaugurate the conclave, with Amrinder Singh, chief minister of Panjab, SK Sandhu, secretary IT, UT Chandigarh, Kiran Karnik, president, Nasscom, and Omkar Rai, STPI Headquarter, New Delhi, shall address over 300 delegates, on developing a collaborative model for further IT enablement in the city and the region at the Hotel Taj tomorrow.
 
The second plenary session on "The Changing Business Eco-System and Flattening Of Organisation" will be chaired by Sujit Bakshi, president, corporate affairs, Tech Mahindra.
 
The other penalists are Romi Malhotra, head, India operations, Dell India, Deepak Ghaisas, CEO Iflex Solutions, Arun Seth, CEO, BT Worldwide and Mohan Das Pai, head, education, research and human resourse.
 
"New Thinking About Innovation: making changes work for you" is the theme for the third session, which will be moderated by Vivek Atrray, DPR, UT Chandigarh.
 
Srinivas Polysetty, Innovative Head- CSC India, Dan Sandhu, CEO Vertex, Vibhu Sharma, Director R&D Quark and Dr. Bapna, Associate Professor and Ex-Director (CITIR), ISB- Hyderabad will be the other members on the panel.
 
The post lunch session will focus on "Effective Strategy For Emerging Companies", with Sanjeev Bikchandani, CEO, Naukri .com, Alok Mittal, Country Head, Canaan Partners, Praveen Kankariya, CEO, Impetus Technologies and Pradeep Gupta, CMD, Cyber Media as the members of the panel. Mr. Pratap Aggarwal, CEO, IDS, Infotech will moderate the session.
 
The fifth and the last session of the day will be on the "Emerging Opportunities in New Growth Areas". Moerated by Sameer Jain, CEO, NetSolution, the session shall have on the panel, Tarun Upadhyay, Chief Soft ware Architect, IndusLogic, Simarprit Singh, CEO, Compare infobase and Puneet Vatsayan , CEO, Mobera Systems.
 
N S Kalsi, Managing Director, Punjab Infotech, shall round-up the day's proceedings at the concluding session of the day.
