The state unit of the BJP on Saturday called for the prime minister’s intervention towards finding a solution to the ongoing general strike in the state. He said the strike, launched on September 13 by the state government employees, was being carried out peacefully and was supported by people from all walks of life, including auto-drivers.
However, the state and the Centre had not responded to the strike, he alleged, “The PM should depute a high-level delegation to visit the Telangana districts to get a first-hand knowledge of the impact of the general strike,” state unit chief G Kishan Reddy said. “It is unfortunate that both the State and the Centre have failed to understand the intensity of the agitation,” Reddy said.
