The nine-month old D V Sadananda Gowda-led BJP Ministry would be expanded soon, state unit party President K S Eshwarappa said on Wednesday.

“The ministry will be expanded in 10-15 days. New faces will be inducted and some senior ministers are expected to be drafted for party work,” he told reporters here. Eshwarappa said there would also be changes in portfolios of some ministers and some may get additional charge.

Currently there are eleven ministerial vacancies in the state against its permitted strength of 34 ministers and Gowda is handling at least 20 additional departments.

Eshwarappa said the BJP central leadership expected to give its nod for the ministry expansion, for which several aspirants have been waiting. The state BJP chief said he did not find fault with the on-going signature campaign by ministerial aspirants demanding expansion of the ministry.
