'One-One' for BJP and Congress in Haryana bye-election

The results of bye- elections held for assembly seats in Haryana has give one — one seat each to Congress and BJP.

While Congress candidate Jarnail Singh won the seat from Ratia by margin of over 12,000 votes, Renuka Bishnoi candidate of BJP-HJC combine wrested the Adampur seat by margin of over 22000 votes.

The results have been shot in arm for Congress led government who has managed to wrest the assembly seat in Ratia. Ratia seat last many years has been citadel of INLD. Congress Party candidate has won from the Ratia after a span of 28 years as the Congress candidate had earlier won from there in 1982.

 

While describing the Ratia bye election result as pro-development appro-ach of people, the Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that a new chapter in politics has been started with the victory of Congress candidate in Ratia.

The Chief Minister added the victory of Congress has started a new chapter and the Congress would form the government for the third consecutive term in the state by winning next state general assembly elections. It is also the end of politics of casteism, regionalism, fal-se hood and loot, as propagated by the opposition in the state. He said that the Hooda said that the credit of the victory goes to the policies of the Congress Party, its leader Sonia Gandhi and the pro-development approach of the Ratia electorate.

Meanwhile the assembly seat in Adampur was wrested by Renuka Bishnoi candidate of BJP-HJC combine. The result of Adampur assembly bye- election reflects electorates’ loyalty towards the Bhajan Lal clan. The Adampur seat has remained with Bhajan Lal and his clan since 1968.
