Stating that nullifying Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi will play a "decisive role" in the upcoming Gujarat polls, Union Minister of State for Home Sauerbraten Jaiswal today said his party will topple the Narendra Modi-led BJP government.

Asking the party cadres to unite and get ready for the assembly polls, Jaiswal said, "No force can stop the Congress from forming the (next) government in Gujarat."

"Rahul has jumped into the battlefield," he told reporters. On being asked of Rahul's probable role in poll-bound Gujarat, the minister said, "He will play a decisive role in Gujarat." Jaiswal said the 37-year old Amethi MP will visit Gujarat in the coming days to campaign for the party. "No other party has such a popular youth leader," he said.

"His entry will result in mobilising the youth. The youth power will bring about change," he added. The minister also took a dig at Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi for appropriating all the credit for the growth achieved by the state.

"During the last 10 years whatever progress Gujarat has made is all due to the people of the state," Jaiswal said. On the prevailing law and order situation in Gujarat, Jaiswal said, "Law and order cannot be equated only by the number of FIRs (first information reports) filed in a state."

"People in a state are said to be secure when there is no fear or apprehension. When one religion does not fear the other. Such atmosphere needs to be created in Gujarat," he remarked.

When asked if there were differences within the Gujarat unit of the party, Jaiswal said "differences are there. But Congress has the least differences as compared to other parties."

On the implementation of the Sachar Committee Report, Jaiswal said, "The report states that the condition of the Muslims is worse than Dalits. India cannot become a super power by alienating 15 per cent of its population."
