The inaugural ceremony of the newly-built third runway, the longest in India, at the IGI airport today witnessed some "unwanted guests" in the sky and on the ground.
The "guests" included birds in the sky and a dog on the ground which entered through the main gate and reached near the podium.
As security personnel tried to shoo away the dog, the animal crossed the podium and the barricade and ran towards the runway.
All this happened at a time when Air India's Boeing 777-300ER (extended range) was about to land. The dog finally ran away towards Vasant Kunj side of the runway.
Similarly, a number of birds were seen near the 4,430-metre runway and taxiway. Crackers were brusted to scare them away.
