'Urbanisation should be balanced'

State minister for urban development, I K Jadeja, expressed state's willingness for balanced growth in housing, infrastructure, environment and education in the urban areas of the State.
 
He was speaking on the subject of 'Urban Sprawl or Smart Growth' in a convention organised by Gujarat Institute of Civil Engineers and Architects (GICEA) in Ahmedabad on Saturday.
 
While inaugurating the Convention, Jadeja said, "Gujarat is a top ranking state as per as urban development is concern and this type of convention will be useful for policy makers."
 
Surendrabhai Patel, chairman, Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority said that experts present in the convention will show correct direction for urban development.
 
N K Patel, president of GICEA talked about various problem of development like population, need for shelter, infrastructure and environment.
