Cloud computing would not only scale down the cost of operations for rolling out e-governance initiatives but also expedite the process as well.

As per the National e governance plan (NeGP) strategy it aims at making all public services accessible to the common man locally, through common service delivery outlets and ensure efficiency, transparency and reliability of such services at affordable costs.

Talking about the use of cloud computing in e-governance projects, the officials maintained cloud computing could really help scale down the cost of e governance plan.

Cloud computing in e governance projects has been implemented in J&K whereby a data centre in MP was used to maintain the track record.

According to Microsoft officials cloud computing would help the states in incurring less expenditure by opening few number of data centres and making use of available date centres irrespective of the state where it is present.

They maintained that states were eager to make use of cloud computing which was an effective and efficient way of having e governance network across the country.
