None of the private power projects cleared by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) since 1999 is near completion, with most of the projects held up for want of financial closure.
The CEA had accorded techno-economic clearance to 13 projects between 1999 and October 2002. All these projects are held up at some stage or the other, with 10 of them yet to achieve financial closure.
