17% more firms in Jan

The number of companies registered in January rose 17 per cent to 2,758, compared with 2,357 in the same period of the previous year.

Maharashtra and Delhi continued to maintain their lead over other states in terms of the number of companies registered. In January 2004, 653 companies registered in Maharashtra "" around 8 per cent more than 603 in Delhi.
